Fairelands Junction (Saiyge Lotus)
Junction is the Core of the Fairelands, the Beginning of the Chain of Countries, the end of the circle they form. It features portals to all the other Fairelands for your traveling convenience, and it also always holds the Memorial for those who are not with us anymore.
In all of the shifting and changing Fairelands, Junction is the one constant. It might change its shape, like finding a new gown, dressing for the occasion, but it is always Fairelands Junction.
This year the Junction has also pulled eight Worldlings into her embrace for the Fairelanders to admire.
Seeds of Story
These are suggestions. Be inspired by this land and write what you desire.
Fairelands Junction is the heart, the core, the centerpiece of the Fairelands. Yet this year, the heart was deep in the ocean, a place of mysterious depths, jeweled colors, and drifting shapes. What does a junction in the depths offer? What might it mean?
Still, this is the crossroads, and as such, ruled not by Neptune but by Hermes. Who do we meet here at this meeting of the ways? Who do we look for?
There are worlds here! Small worlds, worldings, we can spy through windows. This one is full of magic and many tales. Choose one to tell.
This world is eerie, threatening. Here, a spell has been put in motion. What happens next? What rises from the circle cast in glowing red?
The path leads up, out of the depths into the promise of sunlight above. Imagine you are about to emerge into a Faireland no one has yet seen. What is is like? What will you find there?
Share your work in draft or final with the rest of the tour in a voluntary open mic, or submit your piece within 24 hours – either inworld or by email – to be posted online along with others inspired by the same region. Some of the these tales will be chosen for broadcast on Fantasy Faire Radio, and may also appear on the Fantasy Faire channel on You Tube. If you do NOT wish your work broadcast, please indicate this on your submission.
