LitFest Tour: Aetherea

The Faire is brimming with stories: breathtaking builds and fantastical creations designed to touch your heart and soul. What stories do they inspire in you? We invite you to put your Fantasy Faire experience into words.

Aetherea (Alia Baroque)

The Immortal embrace where everyone is, where anyone can be and exist, Aetherea is beyond a touch and within reach, she’s a dance of wisps and a vision for an ascended eternal space of time and spirituality.

Seeds of Story

These are suggestions. Be inspired by this land and write what you desire.

You have arrived in the most magical of cities, where every building is a temple and the still water reflects each detail with perfect clarity. Would that your soul were as clear! What brings you to this place of spirit? What ills are you hoping to cure? For what wrongs might you be seeking forgiveness?

Here, fishes and birds move together in flocks from air to water and air again. Are they the same? Do they change one to the other? Are they real at all? Could you, for example, eat one? Or are they creatures of light and air?

You sit on a pillow in meditation as a strange-scented incense wafts into the air around you. As you breathe it in, your mind is overtaken by strange visions and imaginings. What do you experience?

In your altered state, the fanciful detailing on the buildings almost seems to come alive. Wait … did those fronds wave in the still air? What do they symbolize? You become deeply interested in the myths of this place. As you meditate, one of those myths comes into your mind.

If you ruled this peaceful, beautiful place, who would you be? A king? A priest? A goddess? What would your role be? How would you life here?

Share your work in draft or final with the rest of the tour in a voluntary open mic, or submit your piece within 24 hours – either inworld or by email – to be posted online along with others inspired by the same region. Some of the these tales will be chosen for broadcast on Fantasy Faire Radio, and may also appear on the Fantasy Faire channel on You Tube.
